Beautiful old dagger! Could be Indian but I tend to think it might possibly be Iraqi or some other nearby country. A lot of this style jambiya(I believe it is)had multiple points on the blade;usually 3 or 5 to assist in damaging whatever(or whomever) was the recipient. They are kind of hard to date but I would hazard a guess as maybe later 19th century. Beautiful score!

Doing some more investigation on this knife I think it could be Persian made...

Morroccan Koummya dagger. If you Google search the name you will find many similar examples. Beautiful knife. I think these have been traditionally made in this same style for hundreds of years. It would take someone with specific expertise to give an accurate date for it.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

The last picture with the serpent is the blade, no other markings

"The last picture with the serpent is the blade, no other markings"
Yes, but there is no picture that shows entire blade, either just the blade or entire knife out of the scabbard.
Can you post one ?

Thank you. You describe this as a "dagger" so i presume it has a very pointed tip.
I have thought that only a straight blade, not curved, could be classified as a dagger ?

FYI
Janbiya, also spelled janbia, jambiya, and jambia (Arabic: جنبية‎‎ janbīyah, Kurdish: xencer‎), is the Arabic term for dagger, but it is generally used to describe a specific type of dagger with a short curved blade and a medial ridge.

I too though a dagger was a double edged blade that came to a point.

This is a Persian jambiya. It is double edged with the reinforcing rib down the middle. It is referred to as a dagger.

This is Websters definition of dagger.

Definition of dagger
1
: a sharp pointed knife for stabbing
2
a : something that resembles a dagger
b : a character † used as a reference mark or to indicate a death date

The OP Morroccan Koummya is commonly referred to as a dagger.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

I can see what a lethal knife the "Persian jambiya" is: a reinforced pointy tip to puncture your opponent's abdomen, and as you penetrate further the curved tip goes up through the diaphragm and into the lungs and possibly heart. It is Game Over.
