Hi Trey. Welcome to AAPK. If you wish to post photos, you'll need to post them directly from your computer to AAPK. The site does not permit posting from a photo hosting site because if that site stops working or your photo expires, it's gone from AAPK permanently. Below is a link to a thread explaining how to post photos here on AAPK.

::welcome:: Trey
Your knife seems to be in good condition, sharpen it and it will surprise you. The steel in the blade takes an great edge.
The value is not high as Colonial was an economy brand. If you go to the brand specific forums there is a Colonial forum. One of our late members was a descendant of one of the founders.
Again ::welcome:: to AAPK the friendliest knife site on the web

Click on "knife forum" at the bottom left of the page. That will bring up a screen showing all of the various forums here on AAPK. Then scroll down to the brand specific forums which are in alphabetical order. Click on the Colonial forum and you'll get a list of the Colonial threads.

Don't panic, it happens with all carbon steel blades. Any thing with acid in it or blood will cause carbon steel to darken, just wipe it off and oil lightly, it will stay grey probably. some people call this "man made patina" and a lot of knife guys like it. All my old butcher knives are grey with use. ::tu:: Terry
