I have a very hard time passing up a clean, pre-1983 Case 5318 or 6318. I also like the Schrade USA variations (897UH, etc.). OH

I guess I could admit to a certain fondness for Schrade's 233 pattern...especially Herman Williams 233's

Me too. And Case 47's of all flavors. And Case 83 whittlers. And.......aw, never mind! ::facepalm::

Thanks Joe...I've been collecting Herman's knives for quite a few years. I've been re-doing some of my displays and getting a few of the patterns all together for the first time...like the 233"s 33OT's and 833UH's. I've just about finished making the display frame...waiting on the glass to be cut... for the 152's. Now that's a pattern a lot of collectors have obsessed over. When it's done I'll post a picture. Some Herman Williams goodness guaranteed.

I can easily resist WW2 era Western G46-8s, Western Bailout Bowies, Western W49 Bowies, USN-MK1s, 1219C2s and USN MK2s.

I know I can since I do not yet have 500+ of them. :(

Well then, ZZ, looks like you have your work cut out for you...time to get them photographed and posted for all of us to enjoy along with you. Looking forward to seeing pics of what you've got so far (on your way to the 500 count 'finish line' of being able to resist). ::nod:: ::watching_you::

I need to work on getting better at that.

Part of my shortcoming on that front is that while I have my collection well documented as to what I have, I draw extremely heavy vacuum in organization.

I have large tubs labeled with cryptic identification in black Sharpie such as 1,2,3,4,5...... ::facepalm::

I had an Excel spreadsheet that listed which tub a specific knife was in but since the file was constantly being updated/modified, I neglected to print out a hardcopy. Then when my hard drive died, I had to rely on my tape backups. And do you want to guess which backup tape somehow got corrupted? That's right the "Knife/Sword/Axe/Machete/Bayonet" tape that had all my pictures AND my inventory files. Provenance paperwork is in file cabinets, so it wasn't lost, but a lot of research documentation went down the tubes.

Take for example, when I was looking for a specific knife, Camillus WW2 1219C2 Version 1 Split Nut #3, I had to look in each tub until I found A Camillus 1219C2/USN-MK2 tub and then dig through the tub to find it. When it was not there, then I had to go look for the OTHER Camillus 1219C2/USN-MK2s tub and search through that one.

I'm slowly working my way through the tubs recreating the spreadsheet but it's slow going as I have to re-inventory each tub, writing down the label information from each item.

All in my copious spare time. ::mdm::

Hi,All:
NO! I have never had the good sense, or good fortune to be obsessed with 1 Particular Knife. I am obsessed with one for a while, and then for no good reason jump to another, and start all over again. I tend to get temporarily obsessed with types or categories of knives, and that enables me to get into more troubles, than one knife ever could. "Oh, Ain't it fun though?"

Not sure why that is, they have fantastic saw cut bone, nice bolster stamp, the unique older Queen bolster shape, you know the year they were made, just love the way they feel and carry.

Anyone else can't resist 1 particular knife from 1 manufacturer?
I'm obsessed with the Drake Well Barlows as well...but only because I can never seem to get my hands on one.

Now I know why! ::rotflol:: ::poke::

These pictures are some of my Camillus 72's and their clones. The pictures were taken two years ago. Since then I've added a few to the pile and there are a few customs that aren't shown. A handful or so are Junkers but not many.
