All About Pocket Knives

I purchased this Schrade knife the other day. It looks good but I have never seen this pattern before in the Schrade brand. Any thoughts? Thanks

A quick thumbnail history without referring to my notes for absolute accuracy on dates.
1904 Schrade Cutlery Company was started.
Circa 1946 Schrade Cutlery Company was purchased by Albert Baer and the name was changed to Schrade Walden Cutlery.
1973 Walden was dropped from the name and the name was changed to Schrade and that is how it appeared on the tang stamps.

The knife you have is an early one made by Schrade Cut Co.

What you have here is a prime old schrade made roughly between 1917-1946. It does not look buffed to me, everything is nice and factory crisp. A very hard knife to find, nice, nice, nice! What is the closed length? I'll try to find the pattern in the catalogs.

I think the OP knows what a Schrade Cut Co is but is asking if this is a legitimate SCC pattern.
And, -- YES IT IS !
assuming it is 4 1/4"(which it looks to be), then it is R7973 "Equal End Jack Knife" Cat. E, pg, 84.
What a stupendous find ! Top of the line and rare. First one i have ever seen in any condition. This one looks truly Mint.

Hey I just wanted to say thanks to all who replied. I also apologize for the delay in getting back to everyone. Yes the knife is 4 1/4" closed, and i was more concerned with its legitimacy. Definitely one of my best if not the best find I have ever had. You know what they say . . . even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while.
