Maher & Grosh Huge Banana Trapper?

Post by herbva »

I just couldn't pass up this huge 5 3/4" banana trapper (minus the blade) for only $15. As you can see, one side is engraved Jan 11, 1911 and the other side looks like maybe "Ralph Brand". The seller said it was a Maher & Grosh, but I don't know one way or the other. I know that it's a long, long shot but I would love to find a blade to find a blade for it. The spring is a full 3/16" thick. Please let me know if you have one that might work and if you know anything about this knife. Thanks!

This looks like a Humason and Beckley frame. Nice find!
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

I had one made by Union Knife works. Big single blade stamped "UNION" out on the blade. I have seen the H&B too.

Nice find, Herb! Hope you can find a blade for it. 🤞
