Single Blade Schrade 8OT

Post by Jeffinn »

I found a nice, polished 8OT blade in my parts bin so I decided to make a single blade EDC out of it. The handles are Culpepper amber wormgroove bone and there's a small amount of filework on the backspring and liners. Swinden keys were removed and pins through the bolsters were added.
It's a nice "slimline" 8OT!

Nice! I have an older Colonial NRA advertising knife that's the same basic idea, but they put a lock on the blade. The 8OT based version you made should be slimmer and lighter due to the difference in blade thickness, and no lock. Thinking I'll get some bone put on the "nice" one I bought with the one that became a user (seller had probably 50-100 of these still new in the wrappers for like $5 each 3-4 years ago).

That’s a nice one Jeff. I usually don’t get too excited about file work on blades and back springs. But I like what you did there, not too much, simple and clean. I like it.

Great work! I was impressed with the filework as well - an understated pattern, yet still catches the eye.
Great choice of bone too. An all-around good knife!

Another beauty, and love how you made it slim and single. Great bones too, what a looker. Mmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnn. Where do I buy one? Can't see it on your selling page. Love this baby. Let me know by PM if it's not sold yet because I'll take it. Beautiful. And one of a kind cool. Fabulous work and mod.
