Another 33ot

Post by Jeffinn »

Just a quick cleanup, dressed up the bolsters a bit with a u-shaped groove and replaced the stock handles with some amber wormgroove from Culpepper.
It was another Schrade knife with some decent blades and some tight Swinden keys so it didn’t require a lot of mechanical rework.
And it warmed up a bit today so taking a few pics outside didn’t require three layers of outerwear!

Looks great Jeff!
I notice you like to do a lot of grooved bolsters, I do as well except I have an issue of getting them straight.
I just ordered a tool to make straight cuts, bevels and so forth. It's got a very long name and it comes from the jewelry industry.
Once I get it, figure out how to use it I will post some information on it.

I'm always excited when I get a new tool! ::ds::

Excellent work on the 33OT my friend! ::handshake::

Thank you Dale!
I think a groove or two on the bolsters just dresses them up a bit.
Let us know when you get the new tool, I’d be interested in seeing it in action. We’d all like to make every cut straight!
New tools make me want to get down in the shop and try them out ASAP! I think I’m secretly a tool junky but I’m sure I’m not alone in that regard

Jeff, you are welcome, but it is true. The 33OT is a neat little knife but it looks 'dead' with Delrin. It comes alive with the bone handles. It do not know why this is so but many people feel the same.

I’m just not a fan of delrin.
It’s durable and long lasting but just not very attractive so I tend to replace it whenever I can!

Very nice Jeff! I’ve been toting an example of your worm grooves work today. If that one is as good as mine it’ll be a real winner for sho!

Beautiful job Jeff!
Old Timers are near and dear to my heart. Seeing yours makes me want to do the same to some of mine.
Just the one groove in the bolsters makes a lot of difference in the presentation. VERY nice!!
