Camp Knife Rehab2

Post by Doc B »

This is less about the knife...and more about the person. Six years ago, Jake graduated dental school and entered the Army, as a new Captain. We shared an office, for two years; after which, he'd been accepted to the joint Army / Air Force, 4 year oral surgery residency. On the 27th, of this month, he will be graduating and moving to Ft Campbell, Kentucky. I wanted to revamp a knife for him, for a graduation / going away gift. I chose a camp knife...I recently did one, not too different, for a nephew. Jake was an overachiever, from early on. He was an Eagle Scout. So this is somewhat close to a scout knife and maybe, more importantly, it has a crown lifter. We've had more than a few beers, together, over the years. I carved the "B" (his last-name initial) out of nickle-silver barstock. I gave it to him, this afternoon, over a couple of beers and homemade sausage.

If you've had a bad day, in an auto accident...or on the battle field...it's good to know that talented people, like Jake, are on our team. I'm really proud of his accomplishments. Some of his work...
