Old pitted Queen newly crowned
Old pitted Queen newly crowned
Probably should have just left this one alone, but I could not carry it as it was. So, you know the drill. Break it down, clean it up, rescale, and into the pocket...

Should have left it alone??

Thanks fellas. FRJ the blades are pitted badly.
I like knives as found, minus the rust, plus a little oil. Sometimes they can’t be left that way AND be carried.

That's a nice save on a classic. I like the way you left the wear on the blades instead of trying for a new look.

I missed that observation. I was solely focused on the new handles and I didn't even consider the blades. That's a great point Byrd.Byrd wrote: I like the way you left the wear on the blades instead of trying for a new look.

I'm a newbie, and not a knife smith by any means, but it looks like you did a wonderful job. New is old, and old is new, I love the cycle. Congrats.

Byrd, Reverand, DTomp,
Thanks for the replies. It lived almost a week in my pocket before it was passed on. The new owner was thrilled. Hopefully he will be hooked on traditionals now.
