Karl Metzler bartender knife

Post by glennbad »

This might have been my most challenging project to date. It was this really cool german bartender knife. The main spring was broken. The spring itself was pretty intricate, with many angles, plus a little nub that actually went over to the other well so the little blade can release the lock spring of the main blade. It was also missing a bolster

I had to fabricate a new spring and bolster, clean up everything, resolder the bolsters, etc. Oh yeah, and not break the stag in the process. Here's some before and after.

Hey Glenn, what is that necklace that the knife is lying on? And what are the claws from? Are the real or imitation? Thanks.

Sadly, I do not know. The pic is from the owner of the knife. They do look cool though, right?
