OVB Barlow Restoration

Post by orvet »

Here is a knife I completed before going to the Oregon show. Things were very busy and very hectic prior to the show and I didn’t have time to take pictures of this and post them.
The knife didn’t sell so I brought it back with me and took some pictures of it. This is a restoration broken on this knife and I tried to find smooth bone that would match the original smooth bone handles. What I used was dark amber smooth bone from Culpepper.
It came out very close to the original color.

I will post before pictures when I find them, but these handles are a vast improvement over the old ones.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

That was what I was trying to achieve, not to change the look of the knife but to make it look like it may have looks when it was reasonably new but with a few pocket miles on it.

Thanks for the feedback Glenn and everyone else! ::tu::

Here is the before picture I promised,
except it's not really before it was taken just shortly after I started and realized I didn't have a before picture. ::facepalm::
It was really a typical old Barlow that had been used, possibly abused and then neglected.
I think now someone will be very happy carry it in their pocket as their EDC.
