Camco Barlow Rework - Yes, Another Barlow with Acrylic!

Post by Jeffinn »

This will be my last Barlow for a bit, I've got another style of knife for my next project. This Barlow was in pretty bad shape, the bolsters were heavily pitted, the liners were rusty and the blades were totally trashed;

Once disassembled it doesn't look like there's much to work with;

I had another similar knife with some decent blades and I still had some snazzy blue acrylic for the scales so I decided to see what I could do. Here's the liners, bolsters and scales roughed in;

And here's the finished knife. I worked a bit on my blade polishing techniques and on fitting the scales to the bolsters. (There's still a few scratch lines in the bolster that I just saw as I posted this pic but its okay for now).
It turned out pretty good;

Thanks for looking!

That looks great Jeff!
Although I am not a huge fan of acrylic handles, the blue works well on the Camco Barlow!
Nice work!

Well done Jeff. What I really like is that there is no space between the bolster and the handle. Nice job. ::tu::
