Bird & Trout & stag

Post by orvet »

I haven’t posted much of late in the Customize Knives or the Knife Repair & Restoration forums. Spent most of February and part of March recovering from surgery and then the rest of March getting ready for the Oregon show. Also have another project I’m working on that is not quite finished yet but I am sure you will see pictures of it when I’m through.

This is one that was ordered some time ago and I was able to work it in before the show.
It’s a Western L48 that had rotted leather rings. The customer wanted a good user carbon steel Bird and Trout knife. I think this one will be a dandy. Sorry I didn’t have more pictures, I almost forgot to take these two.

Beautiful!!!

I have one very similar that you did for the Oregon show one year. You posted it before hand and I just couldn't let you take it. It's one of my favorites.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the encouragement.
I think Western made some of the best carbon steel but when you couple it with their classic design it is great.
Replace the leather with stag and then it really pops! ::nod::
I picked up another one just like it at the show that sent a little better shape, that one will be coming out one of these days when I get caught up.
