Very fancy knife Mike. There was a HARPER MACINTIRE HARDWARE wholesaler in Ottumwa Iowa about 50 miles from where I live up to the 50's. I found one of their catalogs but it was not one of the old ones and the selection of knives was pretty basic.

Here's a real nice old swell center jack that I am very happy to have. 3 13/16".
Half stops X 2. A real strong knife.

That's a great knife and that pattern in a Utica is a hard one to find, nice going!!

Great old knife Joe ::tu:: ::tu:: ... don't know much about Utica but that knife is great looking with that bone and what looks like a "triple" sabre edged master blade :) ... that is different and very cool ::nod:: .....

Great knife Dave, in the catalog they call the pattern a SYRAIN and the pattern number is 421049. Great knife!!

Mike has some great Uticas and that last one of yours Joe is a dandy. I too, love the bone on Mike's.

A Western States 2nd up from the bottom,old Jordan St Louis towards middle,Utica black composition ,and others which are part of the above post, I think, because I never labeled the entries.

I know of 3 or 4 more Utica's, at least, I have. They were a prolific maker,as noted with these various stamps . One or two marked ( the Cutsure- Kruse and Bahlmann Hardware ) by different companies have a U on the opposite side of the mark.

I also have seen a pattern of darker bone on the pile side of Utica's ,which I don't think you can attribute to sun bleaching.
