Re: Old Butterfly Knives
I have one. A big old WALTCO. I had it at a show once and a priest came up and was twirling it like a majorette. He explained that he was stationed in the Philippine Islands for 5 years and didn't have much to do in his spare time. It was scary. I can't even begin handle one. J.O'.

Re: Old Butterfly Knives
Couple nice ones LT
I like the size of the larger one.
Here's one from the Philippines that when closed looks like a pen that can clip into your shirt pocket.

Re: Old Butterfly Knives
Pretty awesome examples. I have one at home that I got off of galvanic, not sure how old it is though.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: Old Butterfly Knives
It was suggested I post my Hemming Woodsman here, and I thought I'd add a few other old hunting/outdoors butterfly knives.

Re: Old Butterfly Knives
I know nothing about this one, except the blade is probably stainless.

Re: Old Butterfly Knives
I'm not a bali fan John, even though I currently have a $20. cheapo on the way just so I have one in my collection, but I must say that your knife is without a doubt the nicest balisong knife I've ever laid eyes on! And, it has a spear-point blade instead of the usual clip-point ta boot! Beautiful knife bud!1967redrider wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 9:23 pm I know nothing about this one, except the blade is probably stainless.

Re: Old Butterfly Knives
I forgot to add another interesting butterfly knife in my collection. This is a Böntgen & Sabin of Solingen (better, latter known as "Bonsa") penknife from the 1880s-1920s.
Interestingly, because the latch fits flush in both the opening and closing position, it has a nail nick on the side to ease manipulation. If anyone has one of the larger Bonsa butterflys, I'd love to see it.- Miller Bro's

Nice knife!
This is not a knife but is made by Bonsa
