Very recently, I received my first and only (so far), "Say-It-With-Flowers", single blade, all metal pocket knife. It measures 3 1/8" closed. The tang stamp is almost nonexistent. The last line says "STAINLESS" and just above the "STA", it looks like it says "B PO." So, I'm 99.999% positive that this is a GEO SCHRADE pocket knife. This knife style/pattern is a "cousin" of the ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, NEWBURGH, N.Y. and also a "cousin" of the EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY. I took some pictures and here it is.

I completely forgot about the auction for this pocket knife and it got away.
It is NOT an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY pocket knife, it is one of the "cousins."
I'm posting this for posterity, for future reference. The picture is the seller's
and has NOT been edited or altered, by me, in any fashion.

My most recent addition to my collection is this all metal pocket knife. While it is NOT actually an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY pocket knife, it is a "cousin." It fits right in with the other "cousins" with a similar handle style, such as EAGLE KNIFE CO., the GEO. SCHRADE, IMPERIAL and BOKER Scout utensil kit knives, etc, etc. It's a "MADE IN USA", 1 blade, 3 1/8" closed, pocket knife. It still has the majority of the factory applied, greenish colored coating on the handle. I only cleaned the blade, took some pictures and here it is.

The LAST two pictures are of this pocket knife's red handled brothers.
They are also posted elsewhere in this topic/thread, starting on page 2.

Today, this became the latest addition to my pocket knife collection. It's a G. SCHRADE, single blade, cap lifter/bottle opener, all metal, 3" closed, advertising pocket knife. I bought this particular pocket knife because it is a "cousin" of the Allen Cutlery Company, the Eagle Knife Company and the other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar style/pattern. It needed a minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

This afternoon, this became the latest addition to my pocket knife collection. It's a U.S.A., single blade, cap lifter/bottle opener, all metal, 3" closed, advertising fob/key ring pocket knife. There are no markings other than U.S.A. on the handle. I bought this particular pocket knife because it is a "cousin" of the Allen Cutlery Company, the Eagle Knife Company and the other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar style/pattern. This particular fob/key ring pocket knife has a slide lock which works fine. It needed no cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

***** The advertised company is "ROSSETTI BROS., INC. - BURLINGTON, VT."

I don't know. *****

This morning, I added this BEAUTY to my collection. It's another ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, NEWBURGH N.Y. (1917-1925), single blade, 4 1/4" closed, hawkbill pruner or pattern No. 30, pocket knife (see the last picture). The maker stamp and the patent stamp are both on the handle. There is no stamp on the blade tang. It needed absolutely no cleaning at all. I would guesstimate that at least 99% of the factory applied handle oxidation remains. I took some pictures and here it is.

When you first look at them, they look "cheap" and "flimsy."
But, although they are made with the most basic construction,
they are very sturdy and durable. Just like the wire handle jacks
and also, the scout mess kit utensils.

This afternoon, this pocket knife became the latest addition to my collection. It's another U.S.A., single blade, cap lifter/bottle opener, all metal, 3" closed, advertising fob/key ring pocket knife. The other one like this is posted on the previous page. There are no MAKER markings other than U.S.A. on the handle. The handle has 99% of the factory applied coating. It advertises "POCKET PARDINER NO L 47 - WITH THE EXCLUSIVE SAFE-T-SLIDE." I bought this particular pocket knife because it is a "cousin" of the Allen Cutlery Company, the Eagle Knife Company and the other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar style/pattern. This particular fob/key ring pocket knife has a slide lock which works fine. It needed no cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Here are my other three pocket knives with the
same/similar, factory applied handle coating:

Interesting find Skip. Great shape. Neat locking idea! Is the frame a painted finish or some kind of plating with print!?

I don't know exactly what material the handle coating is made
of, or how the handle coating is applied. But I'm 99.999% sure
that it isn't paint. It gives the appearance of being covered in
leather.::shrug::

I am going to investigate the handle coating question.
I have a few other pocket knives with the same type of
coating on the handles. I think it was applied to the handle(s)
so the user had a better grip, instead of gripping just the bare metal.
I don't believe that it was applied strictly as a decorative feature. But.....

Yesterday afternoon I added this to my collection. It is another ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, NEWBURGH, N.Y. (1917-1925), single blade, 4 7/8" closed, 8 5/8" open, pocket knife. This is my fourth pocket knife of this particular pattern. It is the elusive pattern No.20, the "Ni**er Chaser." That's not my term, see the pattern ad, the last picture on page 9. It has no tang stamp(s), both stamps are on the handle. This "20" still has 99.999% of the factory applied handle oxidation. It is in FANTASTIC condition and required no cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.
