Re: Allen Cutlery Co. Newburgh, N.Y.
This morning, my visit to the post office produced this pocket knife and it now becomes the latest example to join this topic or thread and to join my collection. It is a G SCHRADE, single blade, cap lifter or bottle opener handle, 3" closed, one tang stamp, all metal, advertising pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "G. SCHRADE (over) KNIFE CO. INC. (over) B' PORT, CT. (Over) U.S.A." Overall, this is my sixteenth pocket knife in this pattern or style. This is my fourth pocket knife that advertises this particular product. The main handle side says "MORE FLAVOR FOR YOUR MONEY SunCrest." The other side says "SunCrest MORE FLAVOR FOR YOUR MONEY." I bought this pattern or style of pocket knife because it is a "cousin" of the Allen Cutlery Company, the Eagle Knife Company and some other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar, simple, pattern or style. ALL of them are posted throughout this topic or thread. Overall, it is in VERY GOOD condition. It did not need to be cleaned. I took some pictures and here it is.

That is a classic piece, Skip. It brings back memories of an old metal cooler, full of bottled pop on a hot summer day.New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 9:30 pm This morning, my visit to the post office produced this pocket knife and it now becomes the latest example to join this topic or thread and to join my collection. It is an "unbranded", single blade, cap lifter or bottle opener handle, all metal, 3" closed, fob or key ring, pattern or style of advertising pocket knife. It has a slide lock that unlocks the blade, open or closed and it also locks the blade, open or closed. This is my fourteenth fob or key ring pocket knife in this pattern or style. The other thirteen have ALL been previously posted under this topic or thread. If it ever had "U.S.A."stamped on the handle, it doesn't now. The main handle side says "CEDAR CREST SHOE CO. - NASHVILLE, TENN." The other handle side says nothing, it is blank. I bought this pocket knife because it is a "cousin" of the Allen Cutlery Company, the Eagle Knife Company, the G. Re: Allen Cutlery Co. Newburgh, N.Y.
I found this "ALLEN" while searching for something else.
Of course, it was a few days after the auction had ended.
I am posting this for posterity and for future reference.
It is a single blade "ALLEN."
It has the "grooved" handle sides.
It is patent date stamped on the handle.
It is maker stamped on the blade tang.
The knife is NOT mine. The pictures are NOT mine.
The pictures belong to the seller.
They have NOT been edited, altered or enhanced by me.

Re: Allen Cutlery Co. Newburgh, N.Y.
A little background story about this pocket knife. I bought a pocket knife on eBay around the middle of this past November. It never ended up in my possession. The seller tracked it down and had it returned to him. He re-sent the knife to me AND included this pocket knife as well. It is a GEO SCHRADE, one blade, one tang stamp, 3 1/8" closed (not including the ring or loop), pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp is the curved or arched style and says "GEO SCHRADE (over) PAT APD FOR" The main handle side says "Who's afraid of the big bad wolf" and has graphics of the wolf and the three little pigs. The other handle side says "Who's afraid of the big bad wolf" and has graphics of the wolf and the three little pigs. I am posting this pocket knife under this topic or thread because this pattern or style of pocket knife is a "cousin" of the Allen Cutlery Company, the Eagle Knife Company and some other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar, simple, pattern or style. ALL of them are posted throughout this topic or thread. Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. This pocket knife has a VERY crisp half stop and a NASTY opening and closing snap. I just cleaned the blade up a bit. I took some pictures and here it is.

Nice find and very appropriate for a Nugrape advertising knife to have a cap lifter. I haven’t had a grape soda in years but used to enjoy them on a hot summer day as a kid.

Re: Allen Cutlery Co. Newburgh, N.Y.
A very recent trip to the post office produced this pocket knife. It is one out of a trio of pocket knives that John, aka 1967redrider sent to me. Again, THANK YOU, John.
This pocket knife is now my most recent example to be posted under this topic or thread. It is also the latest example to be added to my collection. It is a DIXON, two blades, one tang stamp, 3 3/8" closed, all metal, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says "DIXON (over) CUTLERY Co (over) U.S.A." Per GOINS, "DIXON CUTLERY CO USA c.1920" While it most definitely is NOT an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY pocket knife, it DOES fit into the "cousin" category. It is a "cousin" of the Allen Cutlery Company (1917-1925), the Eagle Knife Company (1916-1919) and the other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar, simple, pattern or style. The main blade has a good half stop, along with a good opening and closing snap. The secondary blade also has a good half stop, with a good opening and closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in GOOD+ condition. I gave it a bit of a cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is. I also included, for comparison, pictures of the almost identical, EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY pocket knife.

Re: Allen Cutlery Co. Newburgh, N.Y.
Yesterday afternoon, my trip to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It is also the latest example to join my collection. It is an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, NEWBURGH N.Y. (1917-1925), one blade, two handle stamps, 4 1/8" closed, all metal, hawkbill pruner or pattern No. 30, pocket knife. The manufacturer handle stamp says "ALLEN (over) CUTLERY CO. (over) NEWBURGH, N.Y." The patent date handle stamp says "PAT. (over) JAN-23-17 (over) U.S.A. It looks like both were stamped twice. There is no tang stamp. This is my fifth ALLEN, No. 30, pocket knife. My other four ALLEN hawkbills have been previously posted under this topic or thread. No cleaning was needed. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It has a very crisp half stop and a wicked opening and closing snap. I took some pictures and here it is. The last picture is of an ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY ad.
