Vintage German Clasp Knives

Post by kootenay joe »

By "clasp" knife i am referring to what Case began calling "Sod Buster" in 1970 ( '69 ?). They are single blade wood handled, rather straight frame, knives intended for any work situation. They have been made in Germany from at least the 1800's.
If you know a more accurate name for this type of knife, please post up.
These were made in sizes from 3 1/2" right up to 8" closed. However ones over 4 3/4" (or 4 5/8") are not seen as often.
Here are 4 knives: 2 are 5 7/8" closed ("Jumbo"), and 2 are the Large size, 4 5/8".
Do you have any of these vintage German knives to show ? Please post them if you do.
If there already is a thread on this topic this thread can be moved & merged.
Thanks, kj
