Roland, I'm far from being the Ulster king since I can count my entire Ulster collection on one hand. I do enjoy your posts, the questions you ask and the pictures of the knives in your collection. I wish I could handle half as many as you have.

Roland... classic traditional looking old knife... really luv the bone on that one! ::tu::
Mike... would really like to see your Ellenville Knife Co. cattle knife. I have not come across that one before...

Here's an 80 to 90 year old Dwight Devine & Sons' Ulster equal end cattle knife with MoP handles I just picked up at an antique show at the Warren County, NJ fairgrounds at the end of last month. The dealer had a bunch of pocket knives in a box & I picked out 3 (including this one with a sticker price of $12). She said she would take $20 for all three. The other two were a Kingston & a Wardlow Cutlery / Walden... but I've been carrying this on around in my pocket ever since... as it still has a great edge to all 3 blades ::super_happy::

Its stamped with the pattern №. 33487 on the pile side of the main blade.

Pearl Cattle knife = Sunday Dress knife, wow, excellent score & beautiful knife. Rare & sought after.
And, a Serpentine Doctor's knife with etch. I have not seen a serpentine one before. Most uncommon pattern.
I feel a bit envious seeing such fine old knives. There are none anywhere in Canada ! (except in the homes of a few collectors)

Paul.... that's a classic lookin' ebony jack with with what looks like nearly full blades. Gettin' tougher to find such gems... way to go.... ::tu::
Mike.... that ram horn whittler looks just like the one I acquired from Roger... he posted it on page 34. Since it turns out yours has the double pulls on the main blade just like mine... the pattern must have been intentionally made this way even though, with mine at least, its too difficult to use the long pull to open the blade, especially with the "bear trap" like spring.
Roger.... that Ulster serpentine doctor's knife in horn handles would stand out in any collection. Nice score!!! ::tu:: 8)

Literally just won this Ulster 63. Should be in the mail to me tomorrow, Monday. This is my first, non-Camillus, Camillus 72 variation that I've obtained. Only obvious "issue" is that the shield is gone. I am going to try and come up with something nice to fill the shield space with, ala Doc B. Click here for Doc's solution: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=62273#p734475
I will post the pictures when I'm done. Here is what it looks like now. The pictures are the seller's.

Just picked it up at the post office. Will give it a gentle cleaning, replace the missing shield and post the "after" pictures.
Decided to postpone doing anything about the missing shield for now. The after pictures are here: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=62956
