Seems to me to be a problem for the collector with this. Do you unwrap to confirm the contents and establish the era made or leave it as is. Is it more valuable as is?

An amazing find Steve, congratulations.

Steve, have you turned into a CT (Case Tease)? Your devotees want to know your secret. Will it ever be revealed or do we just have to assume that it's 6 torpedo sinkers?

At this point there are only two possible explanations: Steve is either the cruelest, meanest, most sadistic knife torture master in the history of knife collecting, or else when he unwrapped the knives the shock at what he discovered sent him into immediate cardiac arrest and he's currently crumpled in a dead heap on the floor clutching some amazing, pristine, rare CASE knives in his rigor mortise clenched fists.
::suspense:: ::undecided:: :?

~Q~

EDIT: Of course I am just kidding. There's actually a third (and more likely) explanation, i.e., Steve has a wickedly twisted sense of humor and he enjoys winding us all up and whipping us into a frenzy of suspense. Bravo, Steve, Bravo! :lol:

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but the thread title says "boxes" (i.e., plural). Maybe Steve has been busy with even more treasure :)

It just occurred to me, this thread is clearly about boxes...not the knives inside the boxes. I think the title makes that pretty clear.

So, in keeping with the (obvious) theme of the title of this thread...

The box tells us what is in there: six 3 3/4" 2 blade Barehead Jack knives with bone handles. You can see that they fit the box perfectly. Fishing lures would show some hooks.
I hope i win one for being correct (if i am).
