Thank a lot, dogg. It's really quite a knife. It's thin as the older ones seem to be so that makes it easier to carry.
I can't carry it though ... :x ... it's over 4 inches long on the cutting edge (4 1/4") and Connecticut wont allow anything 4 inches or longer to be carried by any one who is a honorable stand up tax payer who contributes rightly to the community and obeys the law.
Decent, mature, honorable citizens cannot be trusted to carry what they deem appropriate for themselves. It's quite insulting.

Beauty Joe ::tu:: ::tu:: ... and as for CT:

CT is a beautiful state (at least most of it with much history) BUT as you said the laws and many aspects don't make it desirable for many reasons including taxes etc etc.... State is hurting for money and yet their absurd laws etc have chased many folks and even businesses out of the state.... As to the knife laws - I doubt any troopers carry rulers so just tell them it is 3 and 15/16" :)

tongueriver wrote:What a wonderful thread. Looks to have settled in to folding hunters, but just for fun I thought I would throw in a group of late 1920s and early 1930s Remington fixed blades.

The top knife resembles the USN Mark 1 Deck Knife. (KaBar said that the original Mark 1 was patterned after the hunting knives of the 1920's and 1930's).

This figures and is why I bought a modern KaBar USN Mark1 Deck Knife. You can't beat it for real hunting service/work. Their 1095 Cro-Van steel is marvelous and can be brought back to a razor's edge in jig time.

Lee no disrespect taken! It is 5 1/4 inches closed with SAB ground blade similar to your Wolstenholm IXL.

That pearl is something! Wow! Say... do English jacks count here? I might have something to show in that line. Here is one that I hope I did not post earlier. Agate celluloid.

In 2nd post in this thread Lee LongBlade posted a picture of Miller Bros locking Cokebottle and I have been looking for one like it ever since... With thanks to AAPK member and store proprietor Woods Knives (aka thefarside) I can check this one off my list ::ds::

It's interesting what stands out about a knife. Sometimes it is the way it looks or the way it feels. With this knife it is the solid sound of the blade locking into the open position. For the record, the other 2 senses (smell and taste) have never stood out for me with a knife :)
