Part of the stamp on this knife isn't all this rare but the other part I know nothing about. Let me know your thoughts.

Here's one that isn't in Levines or Goins. I've sure never heard of it before I bought this one. It's been laying in a drawer in my desk for a few years and I can't remember where I got it. Too bad it has a broken pen blade because the rest of the knife is good. The handles are solid brass and it's heavy. Both blades are stamped Deweys

Here is one I recently picked up. A Schatt Morgan stamped Gowanda NY. When Schatt & Morgan started, they purchased the old Platts factory in Gowanda. They were there from 1897 to 1902 so this is an old knife. I guess you might call this is a small dogleg jack. It is only 2 7/8" closed and is in really good condition for a Gowanda knife.

Thanks for looking ::tu::

I've seen a few of these Quickpoint/Remington knives over the years but they are few and far between. I've never seen a Quickpoint that was a large substantial knife but rather small pen knives or pull ball switches. This little knife looks like a real gem!
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

I did a little research on this knife since my post. If I'm wrong set me straight. Quick point was/is an advertisement company. Buy things from them, put your name on it and give it to your customers. I think this knife might be a salesman sample. ??????

Here is an old case knife with a tang stamp I have never seen. I believe it dates somewhere between 1915 and 1925. A Case 6470F with a left handed rear pull on the main blade, blades recessed in the handles.
Thanks for looking. ::tu::

Quick Point was was a firm in St. Louis that specialized in novelty advertising items. They had knives made for them by both Winchester and Remington.

That's according to Goins and as of the publication of his last book, they were still in business, but in Fenton, Missouri.

Here is a very nice swell center, pearl whittler. 3 1/16".

Thos. J. Bowler, Chicago ......... hardware firm.
Goins gives this a one year date: 1922.
I'm guessing/hoping NYK made. ::super_happy::

Joe, beautiful old MOP Whittler ::tu:: I am very attracted and intrigued by the Whittler pattern and the intricacy and challenge of the build for the cutler! This one being almost a centenarian adds to the mystique of this example. Wonderfully staged and photographed by the way ::nod:: Lloyd
