Hey Guys, Couldnt resist myself but to post this FRARY "Our Boy" knife. Looks similar to a barlow pattern I know but doesnt have the extended bolsters,,,so likely was just a boys knife. Anyways,,,I still intrigue in finding unusual FRARY Knives. They are tuff to come by. One of my friends has a knife just like this knife but its the 1-BLADE version. Pretty cool huh. I do think the handles are Pewter also & its 2 9/16" closed
Kind Regards,
Mark

Hey Guys, I was very Blessed to meet Mr. Ralph Schulz Earlier this year who was an avid Barlow collector for over 35+ years. His collection of about 350 Barlow knives was above & beyond anything I had ever seen. Mr. Schulz is an Old Man right at 80yrs but acts & thinks like a guy in his 60's. He didnt want to pass away & leave his burden of knives to his Wonderful wife to mess with. Also, he wanted his Barlow Collection to find the right home,,,and that we did accomplish together. Many of his knives are featured in our Book by Mr. John Goins Encyclopedia of cutlery markings & Mr. Schulz was a friend of Mr. Goins(((Mr. Goins accidentally gave credit to Herman Schulz,,This is RALPH))). I was honored to be involved in this Legacy. I can assure you guys that a Barlow Book is in the making and should be here & available in no later than 5yrs,,I am very hopeful this will happen sooner rather than later. I did keep a few pictures to share with you guys as we wait on the Definitive Barlow book.

Right below is a Picture of Mr. Ralph and I together. He is an absolute GEM of a guy.

THE Samuel Barlow that is featured in Goins from Mr. Ralphs Collection. Also shown,, is a Rare Double Fish hook by Mathew.

I do not own the Sheffield Directory book,,,Can someone help me with the DOUBLE FISH HOOK TOUCHMARK???? Is this Mathew Oates of Stannington????
Thx Guys & Kindest Regards,
Mark & Shana

Thanks for sharing these wonderful tidbits of Barlow history and stories, Mark and Shana!

I am definitely looking forward to an authoritative volume focusing on Barlows. It's kind of my favorite pattern.

Pass our well wishes and appreciation along to Mr. Schulz, he is truly providing a history lesson in the Barlow par excellence -- as are you! ::tu::

Here's a Hibbert, Spencer Bartlett & Co. OVB Barlow straight out of my watch pocket today. I believe this was made by NYKC:

Couple other rare American made early Barlows, pre 1920 or so. One tang stamped Southern Barlow Company, and the other a Southington boys Barlow,
2 7/8".
Have posted these in other threads but they probably belong here.
