That's not the way my other half thinks, after she found out what I had spent over about 18 months mid 13 through 14 and abit into 15 because I got a call about winning an auction and "which card to charge it to as they had a few on file". I still catch double hockey sticks about this and am "grounded from buying any more"thegreedygulo wrote:Well good for him. Roger, I now remember you telling me about that at Parker's last show. I hope it works out for him. Lyle, if you see this, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Although you do now realize, it will seriously cut into your knife hobby/habit. Remember, an omission about spending money on knives is technically NOT lying.

Mark, that Camillus is still a very nice looking knife.
Picked up this Queen, have been slowly adding these to the collection when I can find them, they really are quite well made.

One manufacturer I recently acquired:
A small farmers jack at 3 3/4", like my Holley FJ, seems early examples were smaller.
Schatt and Morgan. John , this one might have came from that same building in Titusville as our Queen Titusvilles.

Re: Farmer's Jacks
Nice knife Lyle! Ebony has always been one of my favorite handle materials.
A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).
Re: Farmer's Jacks
Lyle, that S&M is wonderful, such a classy looking jack.

That is one terrific looking knife John. You got one of the best I've seen.
I've only seen about five or six I think, they don't poke their head out often.
Thanks for posting it.

Re: Farmer's Jacks
Thanks Lyle, were you able to land the one you were looking at?
Re: Farmer's Jacks
He wants too much, but we are still talking. I wish eBay would show actual sale price on the OBO sales, rather than leaving the asking price as what was negotiated,so I could show him an actual point of reference to value.
The two knives look very similar.

Krusius Brothers.
Was wondering if you all think this is Parker’s.
Nice knife, I don’t know if the stag is period? It’s not been used ,so that’s another factor.
These do seem to hold some mysteries.

Re: Farmer's Jacks
Lyle,I saw that on Ebay.I think the stamps are good and it appears to be old construction. The handle pins look like steel and are small. Not having it in hand to give it a better look,I think it is righteous.
Roger
Re: Farmer's Jacks
Lyle, beautiful knife, I agree with Roger, looks like an old one to me, besides the construction that is some great old stag.
Merry Christmas buddy to you and Jan and hope you have a wonderful New Year.

Great knife Lyle.
And I don't think Parker ever had the rights to Krusius Bros. trade marks.

Thanks fellas, good to hear from everyone. Don’t know if you can tell, but I just noticed that the liners are coined.
Congratulations guys on your knife purchases. Charlie, that’s a great Terrier. Great suggestion by Lloyd I think.
John, you’ve gotten several good ones I haven’t commented about.
Roger and Ken’s SFO seems to be very well received.
