Yes it does. Push down the knife blade to unlock. The master blade still has it's etch: EMPIRE KNIFE CO'S/ELECTRICIAN'S KNIFE

I thought I would share my little hoard of Electrician's Knives. Though they're not TL-29's this thread seems appropriate. With the exception of one, they are all with the double cut screw-driver blade, all are American made except the Wostenholm I-XL. I do have others of the more modern design, think TL-29, but they are not shown here. I included the Schrade TL-29 type because I think it is of the same era.

Yes it is, Greg, along with the CATT. and the Empire you sent me. The Remington has the lock release on the other side of knife which is unusual. I won't say that the Rem. and the Catt. are rare, but they are uncommon.

Yeah you don't see many of those. Seems like like I saw one of the Remingtons sell on ebay recently $150-$200

I paid $128 for that one, and though I hate spending that much on a knife, I was very happy to get it. The knife is very solid and snaps like Oprah's false teeth on a chicken bone.

I know that "Buckwheat" is generally associated with the phrase, "OTAY!" and that Eddie Murphy probably made a fortune off it, but my usually reliable memory re' things from my childhood is telling me that Buckwheat was not the Little Rascal that said "Otay", I think that was Spanky McFarland's little brother and a white boy at that.

Yep, your right, especially when I'm used to getting ten nice, bone handled, U.S.A knives for that price. But I've always gone by the old saying that you should always buy the very best that your wife can afford.
