Old Keen Kutter Knives

Keen Kutter was first used as a knife brand by Simmons Hardware Company in 1870. The trademark was used on the highest quality tools and cutlery Simmons offered.

I got 3 new to me Keen Kutters in the last couple of weeks. First is a little 2 5/8" pearl handled pen knife, K27121. Second is a 3 1/4" 2 blade jack with composite scales, K2423. Lastly a 3" 4 blade pen knife with pearl handles, K4458. All three are basically unused, with the factory edge. However, all have some spiders and staining.

Great knives Dan ! Yes there are spiders but you know 100% that these knives were never buffed or altered. They are definitely all original and i see them as top examples. Minty knives with no marks (spiders, etc.) on blade are sometimes hard to know if finish is the original.
The pearl 4 blade senator is my favorite because i collect 4 blade senators, zenith of the cutlers' art. With blades closed does it have sunk or half sunk joints ?

Thanks Roland. Joints are sunk. I usually forget to take the blades closed pic.

Dan, outstanding additions to your growing and expanding Keen Kutter collection! I got agree with KJ, that 4 blade senator is just beautiful and I would love to find one like it especially an original like yours that hasn't been boosted. The sunken joints are just so perfectly suited to a pearl senator ::tu:: ::tu::

Thanks Dan. That's a classy knife, top of the line. BRL has said that the senator was often the most expensive folding knife a company offered.

Thank you Lloyd and msteele6. I do like getting the ones with the etched pattern number.
Couple of nice old Keen Kutters, Berryb. A lot of the Simmons marked knives originally had a Keen Kutter etch.

Mike, Dan, beautiful Keen Kutter's with great blade etch's, just don't find them that way all that often.

Picked up this 3 3/8 Congress this week, marked Keen Kutter on the mark side and K16 on the pile side of both main blades and no markings on the pens. I can't decide if its mint unused or cleaned expertly. Blades appear to be full with factory edges and has very nice bone.

Now that is about as good as it gets for me for a knife, thanks for sharing it. Bill
