Oh my Barry, truly Stunning ! It is a beautiful design and the condition is PERFECT. What a beauty. I love these smaller, precise, exquisite Gent's type knives.
I doubt there is another as fine as this example.

Thanks Roland, Here's a scan with another HENRY SEARS...also advertising with Ivory handles... this one has Korn's patent auto corkscrew opening blade...squeeze the wire cutter and the corkscrew pops open. A hard set to find. Believed to been made by Cattaraugus.

Vintage Mother of Pearl (MOP) Knives

Thought I'd post this little knife since you don't exactly see one every day. In fact I haven't found a pic of one like it in pearl in any of my books but have seen one listing for it under Tested XX knives and one photo of a Bradford with "square" bolsters but with green bone I would have missed the Bradford pic because for some reason it was in the Tested XX section and I just happened to pick up the book with my thumb stuck in the middle on that page.

I wouldn't mind any comments or opinions on this knife. Enjoy. - Bill

I've been working on checking and cleaning my pile recently (semi-annual ritual). It's a pain but also enjoyable because I get to revisit some old "friends" that I haven't seen for a while. Like this Case Bradford 8383. Although not in the condition of the one bernynhel posted on this thread a while back, it is a rare cousin to it, "square" bolster and all. A rare knife in any condition IMHO.

Yessir, some great old pearls in this thread. Here's one with a rare stamp. I posted it on another thread a while back, but it belongs here too. Goins says 1921-28 for the company, but some think the company is older. This knife is stamped Germany so maybe more recent. ::shrug::

Lyle, That is a super rare pattern with beautiful pearl handles. Have you ever seen another?..... Ken, Never found a North American Wichita, Kans. I'm guessing they were a local retailer. Nice one. Thanks to both of you for sharing, Barry

Thanks Barry. Here's another old pearl split backspring whittler with a fairly rare stamp and unusual construction? Not sure what it's called (someone here will know) but the brass backspring spacer/center scale extends up through the blade well on the end having the secondary blades. It is tapered to a point on the other end where it is flush with the backsprings in the blade well. All three blades are stamped Brantford Cutlery Co. U.S.A.

Ken, Nice Brantford whittler with a tapered center liner. I like it. Next I have an old New York Knife Co Wharncliffe Pen with a serpentine shield. Has HAMMER BRAND on master and NEW YORK KNIFE CO WALDEN in the pen blade.

Barry, you have been posting some Amazing knives. The Korn patent corkscrew blade is a wonderful addition to an already wonderful ivory knife. Those two together with the advertising tin really make a great display. The Schrade is also fantastic. Very Lovely. And finally, the serpentine wharn pen ::ds::

Ken, that is a wonderful addition. Very cool to see 8)

Lyle, that is a beauty of a barehead. Boy, you sure do find some fantastic farmer jacks!

Here is an old 6 blade that I posted on the "busted but beautiful" thread. It is in rough shape, but is quite a unique pattern. It is 3.5 inches, 0.5" thick and is stamped V (CROWN) R / E. JENKINS/ SHEFFIELD. I would call this a heart center congress(?). Looks to date to about the 1850s-60s.

Thanks Ken, it is a wonderful old surviver. It must have been a pricy knife for the original purchaser. The liners, or scales if you prefer the proper term, are each cut to fit the profile as they would have been for any knife. But, the unique shape surely would have made for a more challenging process. Not to mention the fancy bolsters. Oh how lovely it would be to find one of these in its original, mint condition
