That knife is a beauty and really unique ::tu:: .... No doubt took some skill to carve that MOP... if what I had read is correct these pen knives were more expensive back in the day than the big old jacks and more difficult to make as well... I would also bet that not many were made like this beauty you posted!

Looks just like a sharks head. The positioning of the pin and blades coincide with the eye and fins.

Here's one I was very pleased to find. This old pruner from Friedmann & Lauterjung is likely 128 years old or older. She arrived today. ::super_happy::

Roger and Tom thanks guys. Those are intriguing knives to me. It would be interesting to find out who actually made those for F&L.

Doc my wife says you are wrong. Anybody who sits on his tail all day long sorting through boxes of knives is a nerd. :D I think she just doesn't know what "FUN" is. ::groove::

Oops, I stand corrected...I didn't realize, that was the definition of a knife nerd. Guilty as charged :)

Here is an amazing Friedmann & Lauterjung swing guard lock-back I recently picked up. The knife truly appears unused. The last three photos show another example I have, albeit in much worse condition (missing swing guards, handles on back side). The curious thing about this lesser condition knife--it has a "Well Known" logo on the reverse of the tang where the excellent knife does not.

Great knife I have the same one marked Electric Cutlery Newark NJ. The Well Known mark is one that Fabyan Knife Co used. Thanks for showing them. Mike
