Knife Boxes
Re: Knife Boxes
Darrell has some of the best Barlows that I have ever seen, including some that used to belong to me. The box of J.Ward Barlows really rocks my boat! Way to go Darrell. Keep posting buddy as I bet you more that you have not shared yet!

Re: Knife Boxes
Well I finally feel comfortable posting this as something that I own. A Case knife box from 1920-40the tested era. More specifically June 18, 1937 as is stamped on the bottom of the box. And of course it came with two 8360sc's as shown.

Re: Knife Boxes
Hate to break it to you but now you have to find 4 more. Actually 5 more, one to display and 6 to fill the box.

Re: Knife Boxes
This old Robeson box sold on Ebay last week.
I thought it a significant box, based on the address on the underside of the lid, 12 Saratoga Avenue, Rochester, N.Y.
That's actually a house that somehow evolved into the offices of The Rochester Stamping Works. On its front porch was a small sign that read, "Robeson Cutlery Co. Second Floor".
So, I put a fifty dollar bid on it, fully realizing I probably would not get it, but hoping I might. It was Christmas, maybe no one else was box shopping.
It sold for $264.00.

Re: Knife Boxes
I have to admit it surprised the heck out of me. Boxes have not been going for that much as I've seen these past few years unless they are American auto boxes like Press Button etc. Not sure but hope the trend is going to keep going. A Miller Brothers box just sold for over 200 also.

Re: Knife Boxes
This is probably one of my favorite threads. To think that the cardboard box has lasted this long amazes me. This is a mailing shipping box direct from the Remington factory with a 1 1/2 cent stamp on it. W. H. JENSON was very famous archaeologists in Brown's Valley, Minn. I haven't found any history on Benson - Quinn Co, other than they are a current grain elevator and commodity company.

Re: Knife Boxes
Dan,the one on the right is a rare one indeed. The other 2 are fairly common, but the middle one looks like new. I see more KK, Schrade and Case boxes than anything else at shows, and 99 out of a 100 Case boxes are pumpkin boxes.
