IM, thank you for the gracious comments on the Tested 6294.

Roger, I agree about the red color. In my experience the red bone on the 94's seems to show red that actually looks red, although not as vibrantly red as on some of the newer red Case knives. :)

Here is a group shot of my Case XX red bone 94's, including the previously posted Tested XX 6294.

Thanks for looking.

Like the no cap bare head, no shield look, feel. Great concept to me.

When I first got back into knife collecting in 1988, I chose Robeson bacause I had two mint Strawberry bone handled knives, John Primble, because Belknap Hardware had just gone out of business and Case 1970 Ten Dots, as they were then eighteen years of age, represented a change in Case's tang stamping and they were still readily available.

I sold all the Primbles and Cases to Jim Sargent at a Birmingham gun show in 1992.

The other day, I came across these photographs that I made in 1991, using a laboratory camera stand at the university where I worked.

Actually, they aren't very good. Focus is not great and for some reason, I chose to use B/W film.

Anyway, here are the thirty-six 1970 Ten Dots I collected between 1988 and 1991. Photos are in no particular order and I'm not about to try to put pattern numbers on them. Some I know, most I cannot recall.

The knives with white appearing handles, are either genuine pearl or yellow composition. You guys decide which are which. ::tu::

Looking back at them, it looks like I bought nice knives.

Photos should expand with a left mouse click.

I'm sorry. ::facepalm::

I just read Dimitri's initial post in this thread and realized it's for Case XX and older knives only.

I cannot delete the posts. ::dang::

A moderator will have to move to another, more appropriate thread or start a new one.

Phil suggested leaving them here. They're forty-seven years old now.

Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I made these photos for insurance purposes.

Charlie, enjoyed looking at them even if they are only 47 years old :D There are a lot of knives that I remember from when I was a kid that are now 50 years old, hard to think of them as old knives.

Here are a Case Tested Barlow and a Clauss, made by Case and pretty sure from the Tested era.

Charlie, Looks like had most, if not all, of the Case XX USA 1970 10 dot knives.

John, nice old barlows. ::tu::

Thank you Tony. The 45's and 94's are the main focus of my equal end affliction, and the 30's to a lesser extent. I have very few 055's because the 2 blade jack pattern doesn't appeal to me for some reason and the 055 patterns with more than 2 blades are difficult to find.

Here is the 4 blade Case Tested XX 64055PU companion to the 63055PU that I posted earlier. This design appears to be very susceptible to blade rub.

There are some uncommon things about the 4 blade 055. It has the main blade facing the back of the knife. Also the long pull is only about a 3/4 length long pull. I have also seen this shorter style of long pull nick on a Tested XX 6393 and a Tested XX 6375. There is some speculation that knives with this particular 3/4 length long pull were contract knives.

What an interesting knife Ralph. The way the blades lie I can see why they did the clip the way they did.

Charlie, I never thought I'd see a jaw-dropping display of Cases come from you. Robesons and Terriers, absolutely, but you brought the thunder with the Cases too! :shock:

I know it was forever ago and a day but would you happen to recall the pattern # of the slim Barlow atop the last post? I've never seen hide nor hair of that knife and I am highly intrigued.

Thanks, everyone. They were great knives and I enjoyed gathering them in, but I just found myself going in too many directions and decided to concentrate on Robesons, as I had two very nice strawberry bone handled knives that I'd had since I was twelve year old.

I had almost all the stag handled Ten Dots. Cannot recall now the ones I was short.

I never found an obvious Ten Dot Cheetah and I'm sure there were others I did not have.

Actually, I think that Barlow photo is a bit deceiving. That's just a five inch Daddy Barlow, whatever its number might have been. It looks small because I suspect I zoomed in on some of the smaller knives, making that one appear smaller than it was.

Ah, the scale threw me off. I was thinking it might have been a smaller knife but if I screw my head sideways and look with one eye half-closed I can definitely see that it's a 6143. :lol: Thanks, I was beginning to think I'd missed an issue of small Barlows after coming across an 024 variant the other week that I"d never seen before; your pic let my imagination get the best of me. ::paranoid::

The B&W imagery is intriguing, it gives an interesting perspective into the look of the bone on the Barlows -- presumably they were both the chestnut red dyed bone of the typical ten-dots? These are among my all-time favorite knives. I'm glad you did well off Jim Sargent but I could never bring myself to part with those. :mrgreen:

A few red bones faves that looked good together. Bought used, used some more, loved more than that. Wish Case would bring back the patterns and bone.
