I'll bow out here for a while. I hope others will post to Mikes nice thread.

Thanks for looking.
My goodness, I didn't even notice the screw-in bolsters until you just mentioned them Joe, how cool are those. One more reason to like that knife.
I've long admired these Barry Wood designed "Tri-folders" at Arizona Custom Knives, but their high price has stopped me from buying one. They sure are cool though.
And please don't bow out Joe, I for one am thoroughly enjoying viewing your many knives, especially the "unusual" models. I'm sure if others wish to post their "Just because" knives they will. 8)

Here's an old Boker USA peanut that has been enjoying its retirement with me here amongst a few other old 50's era Bokers here in Wisconsin. I like the bone, the grind on the main, as well as the forward placed nail nick. Classy little peanut.

Mike, that peanut is a little sweety and like most sweetys it must be handled very carefully. :D

So far I like the quail and the rabbit in the picture. It looks interesting. ::nod::

I've seen this knife prior to seeing yours Garry, but, like you I'm unaware of the maker. Am I correct in assuming that even though the knife appears to be a high priced piece, it's really not? Although, I may very well be mistaking it for a different knife than what I've previously seen. Whatever the answer is, it's a beautiful knife! 8)

How bout a little Pearl Robeson gifted to me by our very own Charlie our Robeson expert years ago. I truly love this little gem! :) 1900-1939 date range.

In Mikes second picture I see an image of a rabbit far left in frame and just up from the bottom. Just to the right of that I see an image of a quail.
Sometimes I'm far too curious.

woodwalker, you are a fortunate man. First to receive as a gift a Robeson knife and then to receive the knife from Charlie Noyes.
And it is a little beauty.
I wonder if I have one; is it numbered on the back?

Well Joe, you have a creative imagination indeed! Here is the entirety of the photo in question, it is the smoke house that used to stand on my grandparents farm in New Berlin, WI. Made from fieldstones gathered from the property. Long gone now unfortunately. Mainly used for pork, but Grandpa was a big rabbit hunter so I'm sure a bunny or two got smoked in there, probably a few grouse too!

What a great picture in a great frame. That smoke house represents a lot of work by someone. I assume your Grandfather. Too bad it's no longer there.

Yup, my imagination is sometimes like a skipping rock on a pond. ::mdm::
