Here's an old family heirloom knife that I pull out to admire and ponder upon once in a while. It came to me when my brother Brian died in 2000, and as near as I can figure he got it from my grandpa or one of our uncles or great uncles.. The tang stamp dates it from 1917-1946. It's obviously got some stories to tell, unfortunately I don't know what they are, which is why I like to pull it out and ponder.. ::hmm::

Nice ol Shrade Walden Mike. It’s nice to have a family piece like that to pull out and remember all the good times and stories you do know. That’s a keepsake for sure!!

Well, keeping with the theme of this nice thread I thought of another knife I haven't handled in quite some time so I drug it out and thought you all might enjoy seeing it too.

A honkin' old KA-BAR.

I definitely enjoy seeing it too Joe. That's a beautiful honkin' old KA-BAR! Is it possible to love and hate a color at the same time, cuz that's what I'm doin'? ::shrug:: 8)

I like that one too, Joe. Nice and thin
, and all that jimping on the spine! Also the nail pull is forward a bit which must make it easier to open. And I kinda like the color! Almost like a creamsicle... the Creamsicle Kabar. ::tu::

I can certainly understand that feeling about the color. :D It sure isn't for every one and especially on a knife. On a Honkin' knife at that.
I'm glad you enjoyed seeing it. ::tu::

I'm glad you like it, Mike. I like big thin knives like this. Thin goes a long ways in the pocket.
Now I want a Creamsicle. ::tounge::

XLIV that Herder is a really classic looking knife. Looks beautifully aged.
Woodwalker those Trappers are really unique! You must have had those rehandled, eh? What are the materials, and if it's not too much trouble I'd love to see what the other sides look like...

Welcome here, 44.

Nice looking Queens, woodwalker. ::tu::

Here is Whaler I haven't seen in a few years.
It was nice to be reacquainted with it again.

Thanks Mike. The Queens came like that. No rehandle. The one is purple spiny oyster and the other is woolly mammoth tooth from Santa Fe Stoneworks. In my basement light the scales look kinda gray in the photo I just took, but they have blue shades to them that I cant get to photo tonight for some reason. Here are the other sides as per your request. ::handshake:: :)
