Anyone familiar with Frank Pummill Knives?

Post by 58chevy348 »

I recently picked up this well-made fixed blade knife. Handle appears to be horn. All I could find out about this maker is his first name is Frank and he was from the Missouri/ Arkansas borderlands area. Also, he is a contemporary of a Mr. “Lile” who was a more well known knife maker and they were apparently really good friends. Any other information would be greatly appreciated!

I've never heard of that maker but it sure looks like a good solid knife. You mention "Mr. Lile" in your post. I'm going to assume that's the late Jimmy Lile. I've seen many of his knives for sale at AG Russell.

Hope you get some information on your knife. Very nice.

I’m pretty certain that’s who they were referring to. I do hope someone out there may have known Mr. Pummill or at least maybe heard of him. Thank you!

If you don't get any responses, check out "Arizona Custom Knives" on the internet. They sell custom knives from numerous makers, and you could always e-mail them and ask if anyone there has ever heard of him. I hear they're real nice people. Maybe they can help. ::nod::

Yes sir I know mr Pummell I grew up next to him he has land bordering my dads land . I actually just talked to him the other day and bought a new knife from him . He’s 80 yrs old and lives with his wife in a house with a beautiful view . I’m not gonna say exactly where he’s at but he lives in a small town roughly 30 min outside Fayetteville Arkansas. Hope I could help
