Ruana- an eleven minute film
Some of you might find this interesting. I have been involved with this scenario as a collector and user for some thirty years and more. There might be some crap little film first to get through.

Re: Ruana- an eleven minute film
I found that film very well made. Great story, especially about how Rudy made the milling machine by himself with scrap parts. Interesting to watch the different techniques used to complete the knife. The first time it showed the metal being poured into the cast it appeared to stop in mid-flow. I had to watch that part again to make sure I saw it right.
Hope they continue that tradition for many years to come. I like the dog too...

Excellent video!
I like the part where he was pounding in the stag slabs into the handles
Here's one of several I have.

Thanks to all for looking. I would love to get one of those "brassies." Maybe someday (If I could just stop buying knives for awhile I would have the cash! ) There was an online and realtime auction about a year ago back East somewhere and they sold a few million dollars worth of Ruanas and Coopers. Unbelievable catalog. I bought two knives and it was not pretty when it came time to write the check.

Re: Ruana- an eleven minute film
Cal thank you very much for that fine video. I only have one Ruana by the grandfather which I now appreciate even more. Very informative and good to see the legacy being carried forward.
