Eggers knife

Post by Brianc1704 »

Hello all, I'm new to the forum and really knife collecting. I came across this knife in a box of old hunting knives my grandfather passed on to me. I cannot find one single thing about any knife ever being made with this name. Any help would be very appreciated !!

Any markings on the other side?

Possibly/Probably a custom knife.

Maybe someone will come by that has heard of that maker, just give it some time for them to reply ::tu::

Welcome to AAPK. Contact a dealer in custom knives. They would be more likely to recognize the name. I discovered this guy through a Google search and don't know him from Adam but he might be worth a try -- http://www.knifelegends.com/homepage.htm

Good luck.

pretty sure it is a handmade custom knife with a hand stitched sheath. Never heard of Eggers however. Sorry I can't be of more help. I make custom fixed blades myself and recognize the hand stitched style on the belt loop.

My Uncle, Raymond Eggers, used to make custom knives out of Northern Michigan. The stamps look like the ones on a couple of the knives I've picked up over the years. I'm curious if you still have this blade around, or anyone else that comes across this post.

Hi Jon Corbett. Since the OP has not logged in to AAPK for 3 1/2 years, I have sent him an email letting him know about your post. He may or may not respond, but I want to thank you for solving this mystery. Welcome to AAPK. Glad to have you here . ::welcome::

This is why I love this forum and the knife collecting world. A random picture of a knife is posted, and 3.5 years later the nephew of the knife maker finds the post and IDs the knife. Now all future researchers will know the outstanding work of a custom knife maker named Raymond Eggers. Remarkable!! ::tu::

Would like to know about Raymond Eggers, like is he still around and doing business? Nice job of making knives. And how many did he make? ::handshake:: Terry
