Terry, the sheath has no markings on the back. The people who make them make several types and sizes. The sheath was listed for $10.95 + $3.00 shipping with a make offer option and I made one of $9.00 & got an immediate "offer accepted" reply. If interested here's the link to his sheaths. https://www.ebay.com/sch/to-gordo/m.htm ... 7675.l2562 I'm not affiliated with them in any way. Some sheaths (like the one I bought - model #1001) have good descriptions but leave out an important part - "made for up to___ size blade" so you have to ask. Thanks!terryl308 wrote:Sasquach, nice bunch of big blades, I like the Parker bowie, did it come with a sheath?
solwarrior, I too like the dye you put on the leather, did the sheath have a makers mark on the back? Nice! Terry

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Thank you for the replies, gentlemen. I liked the tan color too but thought the darker would fit this knife best. I wanted to make sure I hadn't screwed it up so, thought I'd ask for a consensus from the pros.

Your knife above looks like a handy knife. How long is the blade on that one?

15th century oak on a Sheffield made bowie from planking in an old Yorkshire farmhouse. The harmonious tones in the wood make in difficult to photograph but are from an age around the time America was 'invented'.

This post in in the Red stag posts as well but I figured I would add it to fixed blades as
a tribute to my good friend I loss last march
Here is the only Red Stag I have...bought it from knife maker Andy Hess of Gladstone Mich.
many years ago for my wife...this is her regular carry knife when out in the Mtns.
I post this with sadness as a very, very, good friend, knife buddy, (Don) in Ohio passed away this last march
We talked every week on the phone and emailed even more...
Every time my wife answered the phone, he tried his best to buy this knife from her,
got on her dozens of times over the yrs as he was a Red Stag nut !!!
Here it is, full Stag on Stag
I have really enjoyed this whole fixed blade post as that is mostly what I collect and sell

Just made this larger version on the Western W-31. A local guy looked at the one I showed on here a few posts ago and decided he wanted one only with a longer handle. so this is his knife with a 5 inch handle, still cocobolo wood and same blade design. Terry

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
I'm a big fan of carryin' a back pocket fixed blade, not too big maybe around 3.25"-3.75" blade tucked into my back righthand pocket. Always feel better using a fb for a lot of smaller chores and it usually gives you a bigger handle to blade ratio and more leverage so you can get a lot more done with a smaller blade. Here's some of my neckers I like to carry in my back pocket from under $25 to custom CPK Hunter/Skinner.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
MH,Looks like a bunch of handy back pack knives, I too like a smaller blade, most people used to like the huge blades but not so much any more. How do you make the decision which one to take? Terry

Thanks Bob. I'm not familiar with MC but I do like the blade length for a camp knife.

Those JF/Cammys are sweet. I have toyed with the idea of releasing that kind of $$ on one, but there are sooo.... many knives to buy. Thanks for showing them; VERY nice.Quick Steel wrote:Thank you John. Here is it's brother.P1010861.JPG

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
I was searching "Mora knives" looking for info to help answer a question asked here at AAPK. "Ragweed Forge" kept coming up so i checked it out. This is a knife dealer's site but his information, organization and explanation of all the big variety of Mora knives. Very helpful and he is obviously a knife knut and he might just have the most variety of Mora knives anywhere.
So, i bought 3:
# 1 Classic with carbon steel blade & plastic sheath $14
11011, a Mora Original # 1 Classic with laminated steel blade and fiber sheath $39
12683, a 125Th Ann. Edition with Sandvik 14C28N stainless steel and a leather sheath $47
That was 2 days ago and they already have arrived in WA. State coming from N.Y.State !
So here they are. Am i happy & pleased ? You Betchya ! I love these knives and every one is hair poppin sharp.
The last 2 above are expensive for Mora and the $14 knife will cut just as well as the other two. I bought all 3 because i really like these knives and i wanted to thank "Ragnar" for his Mora 'post'.
