I think Gerber did an exceptional job with their commemorative of the famous wasp-wasted Vietnam era knife. Fine grind lines.

Gary, The only Gerber chart I've found ends at 1999. I suspect this is a 2000 limited edition. Could be wrong.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Gary (kennedy knives), I knew I had more info on this Gerber if I could only find it which I did after a long search in trunks not fully unpacked since I began my retirement.
Here is the input from the box it came in from AGR. "The Mark II is one of a 100 piece limited edition produced in 2002 for A G Russell Knives, each with a unique serial number. This version combines features found on the Mark II throughout its illustrious history including a "cats tongue" coated stainless steel grip that is powder coated with cardinal black and gray, and the addition of a premium 154CM stainless steel blade. The classic leather sheath has been reproduced for that famous Mark II look and feel. ZOOO52

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Garry Thanks for the info on your Gerber . I have one from 1968 with Cat's Tongue & Gray Armorhide Handle Serial # 007664. With pamphlet Someone cut the sharping stone pouch off which is a shame but still a nice Mark II from that time period .

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Garry I don't have any proof . The lady I bought it from was selling his collection with a # of Military Guns which I didn't know enough about . Someone used it and took care of it for it to be made in 1968 . Don't see them a lot .

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Very very nice example Mr. Gary .
I wouldn't be surprised if it did see action. I guess that's half the fun of owning knives, the mystery surrounding they're history is half the enjoyment. The other half is owning knives .

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Nobody removes a stone pouch on a whim. That was done by someone wearing that knife a lot and becoming tired of getting caught on things.
To me it adds to the thought that it saw some use in combat.
Very nice knife.
