Mini case

Post by Jeremy429 »

Hi. I have this mini fixed blade case knife and I would like some info on it. It is only stamped with case all lower and has a leather wrapped handle. It has a 3 inch blade and the handle is about the same. The only info I could find says this stamp was used from 1940 to 1965.

Your knife is a pattern 323 31/4. This same style blade was made in a 5" and 6" version as well. This small 3 1/4" pattern if far less common than the larger blades. First produced c.1959 and discontinued in 1978. It was also made with genuine stag handles pattern 523 31/4. The stamp data for folding knives does not apply to fixed blade knives but fixed blades made after 1965 would have a Case USA stamp so your knife was made between the late 50's and 1965.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.
