For Sale: 7 Ernst Bruckmann Knives

Post by kootenay joe »

These knives were made before 1956 and have never been used. There are a few small spots of superficial oxidation on some of the blades. All have smooth blade action, good snaps and zero blade play.
There are 6 Jacks and 1 Pen knife. All have a corkscrew on the bottom 'deck'.
Of the 6 Jacks, 2 are Shadow, 3 are Barehead and 1 has bolsters and caps. 2 have Buffalo Horn handles and 4 have synthetic ? handles which are likely Acrylic, not celluloid.
My pictures do not show the colors of the handles well and there are light shadows on some of the blades; i.e. poor photography technique.
Price: all 7 for $295 to include shipping.
Note the pictures with blades open show 5 of the 7 knives. The 2 not shown are in identical condition to those that are shown.

Bruckmann knives were some of the best ever. Workmanship and materials were top notch. Bruckmann was reportedly the last of the cutlers to use a true crocus polish on the knives.

Thanks Ray. Yes it was a small company that focused on quality not quantity. It was founded in 1891 by Ernst Bruckmann and then taken over by his son Paul Bruckmann. Paul died in 1956 and then the business ceased to exist.
A.G. Russell sold Bruckmann knives. I think he might have purchased the unsold stock after the business closed and then held onto to them for a number of years before selling them in his store.
They are a hand built knife, not a factory made knife.
