Murray Carter spent 17 years in Japan apprenticing with some of the world's best blade smiths so all of his knives are forged using traditional Japanese methods. The top of the line knives he makes are the International Pro series: https://www.cartercutlery.com/knives?fi ... tional-pro
Occasionally he sees a 'cosmetic blemish' on one of these knives and he discounts them as 'seconds'.
This knife is a Murray Carter International Pro, second, discounted from $575 to $460. I bought it from Murray in Sept. 2012. Since then it has been in my safe. I had intended to use it but never have. The blade has not cut anything since arrival. Murray calls it a "Small Slicer"
