Western Bowie For Sale

This is the Western Bowie which later became known as the W49. This is the first version 1964-65. The sheath is original, no 'dangler' as that was added to sheath in 1968. The knife has seen light use but the blade is full. I bought this about 10 years ago and have done nothing to it, not even a light Flitz.
Price: asking $175 to include shipping. I live in Canada and it will cost me $25-$30 to ship to USA.
If you think my price is not current market value for a First Version Western Bowie then please contact me and let me know what is market value. I don't deal much with fixed blades and i don't mind being corrected.

From what I see them priced for locally, this is a good price. If I didn’t already have one I’d be sorely tempted.

Colonel, thanks for confirming that price is reasonable. There are so many 'versions' of this knife that an ebay search does not give First Version examples so i was a bit unsure as to value. I think the value is higher than $115 by a fair bit which i hope translates to a sale.

The older models are beautiful. Is there some sort of home made engraving on the sheath or was that factory done?

The sheath is as it came from factory. It is possible that some sheaths did not have the 2 'lines' pressed into leather just below throat.
You really should buy it. When will you next see a first version Western Bowie ? Maybe 2020 ? i.e. a little rare.

just sent the money via paypal. Apparently your email came in after I looked at my email last night.

Since high tech booted me out the door and sent my job to China, I am no longer addicted to checking email multiple times a day. I usually check it at night after I come in for the day. Or if someone calls me and tells me "hey, check your email". I've gone a week or more without checking my email instead of checking it every 10 or 15 minutes like I used to do when I was a high-tech cube farm working stiff.
