New requirements for selling & advertising on the forums
New requirements for selling & advertising on the forums
Effective July 1st 2017, we will be changing the rules for posting items for sale & advertising on the forums.
To list knives for sale or to advertise them, members will need to have a premium member subscription of bronze, silver, or gold.
You can check out details & upgrade to one of these new premium subscriptions through the link below… https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/ca ... scriptions
Any member who signs up will pay a one-time PayPal fee that will give them all benefits afforded premium supporting member status for one year. When that year nears completion, the member will be sent a reminder with instructions to renew. Members can opt out at anytime.
All fees collected will go toward expenses incurred by AAPK & for future improvements & enhancements including but not limited to the following areas:
Security Enhancements
Improved Backup Methods
Server Upgrades
Store Platform Upgrades
Forum Software Updates
New Software Additions
-----------------------------------------------------------------
AAPK defines sale posts & advertising as follows:
A for sale posting on the forum is defined by AAPK as a post on any forum category that offers an item up for sale in exchange for money. Items offered for trade are not included as a sale listing.
A forum advertisement is defined by AAPK as any post that directs attention to an item the posting member has for sale at a location that is not part of the AAPK platform. This includes, but is not limited to places like personal websites, other knife forums, eBay, & any other similar retail platforms.
AAPK member store item advertisements are not included. They will not count against the quotas.

Re: New requirements for selling & advertising on the forums
Just signed up for the gold package....mainly just to show my support for the site and to chip in a bit towards off setting a fraction of the costs of operations. I have gotten years of enjoyment, comraderie, and friendship from this site and been exposed to more knife knowledge and expertise than I could ever hope to absorb. Thanks again for all you do and have done to provide us with this little corner of the Internet Bryan. AAPK rocks.

Re: New requirements for selling & advertising on the forums
I've been wondering for some time when this would transpire. Decided I was getting a hint when I saw the Supporting Member banner in Bryan's posts. I whole heartedly support this move and put my money where my (huge) mouth is by snagging a gold membership. I doubt I will use most of the benefits but I've sure used the bejesus out of this forum for the past 8+ years so it's time I gave back some.

Re: New requirements for selling & advertising on the forums
Ditto, though I'm not sure I'll ever find an opportunity to take advantage of selling/trading ads for knives. Like Jerry is so fond of pointing out, I think I'm just an accumulator.
Glad to donate less than the cost of one knife to support your efforts, Bryan, and the efforts of the mods who make AAPK such a great place.
Plus, I love the idea of being able to keep more PMs... I've had lots of good and meaningful conversations that are sometimes worth looking back on. And hey, maybe I'll find some knives to swap or sell off...some day.

Can't say no to Bryan! If you just kept the membership fees for yourself ,you would still be way under paid. We love you and everything you do to make AAPK our home!

Me Too ! I am happy to contribute to AAPK.
I want to make a new thread in "Advertisements" but there is no button for "New Topic" or whatever it was called.
Is this a 'glitch' ?

I am happy for ya Bryan to see you getting some payback for all the
things you have done here on AAPK for so many years...
you know my feelings I have conveyed to ya on having the store for the last 11 1/2 years
I was glad to see you finally bucked up too 3% on sales in the stores as well with the new format
Thinking back to 2005 Bryan when we first spoke and how far AAPK has come, you got too or at least
you should be very proud of yourself and what you have created for all of us over the years
