Bark River and GEC

Post by kootenay joe »

Bark River Bird & Trout with Elmax steel and African Blackwood. Very thin blade, razor sharp with Rc 62 for long edge holding.
I bought this in Aug. 2016 to be my ultimate slicer & intended to use it for grouse, turkey & Kokanee salmon. But i have not used it and realize now that i won't. Would make a great kitchen prep knife but i already have a few good kitchen slicers.
These are specs from KSF:
Overall Length: 8"
Blade Length: 3.6"
Blade Steel: Elmax @ 60-62RC
Blade Thickness: .065"
Weight: 2.5oz.
Price: Starting at $149.97
I paid $172.50 and it is exactly as received. The blade has cut nothing.
I would like $135, shipped.

GEC 2007, #23 "Beaver Pond", serial # 046.
4 1/2" Tidioute Cutlery, 1095 steel, blade etch: "Beaver Tail" with a beaver, polished bone handles, flush & square joint.
This was made early in 2007, before their first anniversary i believe. Never used or carried, half stop, pull about a 6, i.e. not at all difficult to open but still has strong snap. Zero blade play.
Pretty well all GEC's are nice knives and this one stands out. It is a special one. I have no doubt the buyer will agree.
$160 shipped.
If interested please email me: rprocter@telus.net
thanks, kj

I still have both these knives which i posted here 3 months ago. Both are really nice knives, they seem a bit special in an already special group of knives. So, a bump is deserved. Who reads posts 10 pages back anyway ?
And a bump should be accompanied by a price drop:
Bark River B&T: $130 ($42.50 less than what i paid KSF) Thin blade would make this an excellent kitchen parer in between fishing trips & birding.
GEC 2007 # 23: $130

Definitely time for a BUMP.
The BRK fixed blade has been sold.
The 2007 #23 "Beaver Pond" is still available. The 'pull' is a 6-7, not a nail breaker which is a problem with many of the early #23 pattern.
$130, shipped, which i think is a very good deal for an early GEC (made within one year of start up)
Please send me a PM or email: rprocter@telus.net
Returnable for refund, no reason need be given.
thanks, kj
