IMPERIAL SCHRADE SET FOR SALE

Post by tongueriver »

Imperial Schrade Revolutionary War set: They were manufactured from 1976 to 1978 by Schrade for Parker Frost, as a commemorative set of Revolutionary War heroes, and included Patrick Henry (white delrin), Nathan Hale (red), John Adams (blue), Thomas Jefferson (green), and George Washington (yellow). All knives have the same serial number. They are all 3 blade four inch stockman knives and are for all practical purposes the same as the 8 OT, with matchstrike nail nick. The different knives have different mottos on the banner on the mark side of the knife, and blade etches. All five knives have the serial number 10899. Each knife is in its original plastic bag and nestled in its own brown woodgrain cardboard box with gold print on top and red lining, and James F. Parker paperwork. Each box has a white cardboard sleeve. These knives were also available mounted in a decorative wall plaque, but I do not have that item. The Patrick Henry has a hairline crack at center pin; the rest are flawless. Addendum: Eric Albers, formerly of Schrade, said on 8 July 2010: “The knives were actually made by Imperial for Parker. Schrade Walden was in the midst of a restructuring at the time and there was no way they could have handled the extra volume, so the gang in Providence took up the orders. Most of these early commemoratives were done at the Imperial site.” The Standard Knife Collector’s Guide – Sixth Edition: Here is the quote from page 456. “American Eagle Series – This set of Parker Frost knives commemorated five outstanding individuals of the American Revolution: Patrick Henry, Nathan Hale, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington. The knives are 4”, three blade stock patterns with delrin handles, eagle shields, and stainless steel blades. Each set came with registration papers and a display plaque suitable for wall hanging. Issue date 1976. Collector value: $185.” Shown are sample pics of the set. Everything is complete. Paypal, first post, PM. Shipped to U.S.A. priority U.S.P.S. $125 (That’s $25 per knife!). Offered first to AAPK members.
