Need help with German Sheath knife

Post by bocaj »

I picked the up this weekend and have plenty of questions.
It’s in great shape but I have no idea how old it is. The birds eye rivet make me think old ??!.. the double edge blade makes me think fighting vs hunting ??
I know the aluminum hilt and handle was considered “exotic” many years ago ??
The ULRICH name is not discussed in the Goins Ed I have. Can anyone help ?? Also is it a 5$ knife. A50$ or a 100$ knife?? Thanks

I believe knife is post WW2, long after aluminum was considered "exotic". Looks like a 1950s-60s knife.

yes... I can easily accept that era also....
Since the mftr is not rated in Goins , I believe the 40-50 dollar range at best... your opinion?

There is no "Ulrich" listed in Anthony Carter's book on German knife & sword makers so it is not a manufacturer's name.

Without the original sheath I would say $50 is high.
