I received this pocket knife very recently. I don't know anything about it. It's a 2 blade, made in Japan(?) pocket knife. The main blade is tang stamped KEEN EDGE. The secondary blade is tang stamped STAINLESS STEEL JAPAN. There is a VERY noticeable difference between the clarity/crispness of the two tang stamps. It measures just a hair over 2 3/4" closed. It is one of a two pocket knife lot that I mistakenly purchased. It's in EXCELLENT condition and I decided to keep it and add it to my general pocket knife collection. I took some pictures and here it is.

Pretty neat jigging pattern on it, can't say I've seen that before. Keen Edge doesn't show up in any of my reference books, but I'm guessing it's a name registered to an importer, we just got to figure out who. Hopefully someone else here knows.

I found this in the 1998 copy of GOINS. It does not mention JAPAN, STAINLESS STEEL, or a second tang stamp at all.
In fact, this is all that is mentioned.

It may very well have started with Simmons, but was bought years later and used for an importers line later on. It happened a lot, importers used an old name and contracted the work out to Japan / Germany knife makers, then brought them to the USA for sale.New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 1:46 amI found this in the 1998 copy of GOINS. That could explain the difference in "quality"
between the two tang stamps.
Thank you.
