The earliest records of the Melcher family (as producers of metal products) dating from 1684. This is one of the oldest families in Solingen and very serious producers. At different times, the company has produced from swords, rapiers and sabers to scissors, manicure tools, medical instruments and razors.
Carl Melcher founded a factory for the production of metal products with the same name in 1854 in the area of Solingen - Merscheid. He produced hair clippers and scissors.
The company Gustav Melcher was in Solingen, Ohligs district. It was founded in 1883. Produced scissors, manicure tools, etc.

Apropos, the knife is very cool!
