HELP Identifying

Post by Hawkens999 »

Hello All

I came across this knife today in the bottom of a estate sale box and the handles and blade shape caught my eye. I think this is a PAKISTAN made knife but there are NO MARKINGS anywhere that I can see. Can anyone help identify make, model, age ?

Appreciate the help

Generally The Paki knives I have seen are larger.

They do make new knives that they age, and that "could" be the case with yours... The blade does appear to be either crude or well worn. That can also be "faked" so My question is what condition are the scales in?

Do they appear to have shrunk from the bolsters? are they as well worn as the blade?
To me they look fairly new but I'm looking at pictures.

My first impression was a Japan knife... It would have to be 1950's or so to be from there so the scales I think are important to figuring an "era".

Hello
Thanks for the reply here, I also thought Japan but the blade shape took me away from the conclusion. The scales show wear and some cracks around the pinning back near the lock. I also haven't seen this locking mech before but I am no expert.
Thanks again

I agree on the lock. I am new to collecting, but I am an old hat at determining age.

Hopefully with the added info someone here with more "knife years" under their belt can help you pin point at LEAST a region on this planet.

The match strike, and blade shape are confusing. The blade looks American, the strike English, the scales Japanese, but the "tone" looks Paki. I really doubt it is a Pakistan knife tho. Try to look more into the lock to narrow it down.

Age I would venture a guess at 1950's-60's, Just a guess...
Real cool knife no matter where it came from.

I'm following this to learn along with you. ::tu::

Bill

Thanks for the input here - Can you point me in the direction of some sort of publication that shows this knife if it is current? Thanks
