My New Spartan - Harsey Compass folder

Post by stagman »

Well I got a "very" special knife back 21/2 months ago on all you guys...been looking at William Harsey knives
and knives he designed...got this special run Compass model...Spartan - Harsey folder,
Every thing on the knife is titanium except for the blade...
I bet 8-10 yrs ago 2 gals were talking here at the house visiting my wife and made
a comment about her and I going on so many trips all here in mostly western U.S.A. your always gone....
they said you 2 are wanderers,,,what are you looking for, are you lost..
my wife kinda took offence and said: """I never recall ever being lost,we
just love to wander""" and went into a 5 minute tirade of some of our exploits
and accomplishments that were life long dreams of ours....
My wife died the 1st week of january almost 4 months ago after 50 years 1 month together..
when I ran up on this knife, with the inscription on it and recalled that visit I did not hesitate and hit the buy button !!!
It has brought me great joy too have it in my pocket "every day" ""Never underestimate the uses & power of a good knife & what it can do for you""

A knife nice Stag but an even nicer story. I hope whenever you see the compass and the quote you will remember one of those "wandering" trips you took together.

By the way, I finally read the About Us page on your AAPK store and now I understand why I always see such two distinct backgrounds in your knife photos. The wooded background from your MI home and the cactus desert background from your AZ home.

Very sorry to hear about your wife stagman, I can't begin to imagine such a loss. ::tear::

That knife is an excellent testament to a life well lived and the good times you spent together.

Best wishes for the future,

I think it is the 'good wife' that made that knife. I bet she made a lot of things good to remember. Did not Solomon say ' he who finds a wife finds a good thing'. I thank the Lord for you memories and that I still get to make memories with mine. Be 50 years in August.

I truly appreciate all the posts and kind words guys...this knife was
just one of them things having the knife bug in your genes that turns
out to be so much more than just a knife....
I reckon that is just one aspect that makes this such a rewarding hobby

And yes deo-pa..you either get the north woods or the sonoran desert in all my pics
Thats a whole nother avenue to having my AAPK store for 12 1/2 yrs now !!!
I just made a nice Marble's knives score and getting the knives ready, pictured,
wrote up, all takes a lot of time and I am gratefull to have it to do cause I
just never been alone like this since 15 yrs old, always Pam & I....
its a adjustment I hope none of you all ever have to make
Thanks again
