Found this guy who makes custom scales online, he had some sweet looking ones posted on his website. I could tell he was in a totally different part of the world but I sent him an email and was surprised how quickly he got back to me. I told him I was on a Jade G-10 kick and he said he could make me a custom scale for $60 including shipping. He asked about the texture and I mentioned one he had done previously. We were in agreement and he accepted PayPal, so I decided to give it a try.

This was about a month ago, and I figured it might take a few to several weeks for it to get here. Well, it arrived today and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. ::ds::. Just the look I was looking for on my ZT0566. Decided to keep the assisted spring functional and I also added some blue anodized screws. Wish I could find a different blade screw now to complete the look. ::hmm::

Including a couple pictures of what an assisted knife looks like with the scale removed. A very easy swap out and the texture of the new scale feels really nice in-hand. Super happy! ::super_happy::

Mine's the Ka-bar TDI Flipper. The best tactical folder I've used.

I was totin' a Ka-Bar today. Dozier Design, Kelly Green Zytel handle and AUS-8 blade. Nice and light weight, made in Taiwan, not bad for $20.

I haven't paid much attention to this thread because I'm not really into "Tactical" knives.
As a matter of fact these are the selected few in my collection. I have one other that
says POLICE on it, but at the moment I don't know where it is.

Most "mini" knives are too small to be functional, in my opinion, but this Tops Mini Scandi Folder (MSF) is not in that group. Coming in at 4 1/4" closed with a 3 1/4" blade made out of Bohler N690Co and handled in Brown (they say Tan but it doesn't look Tan to me) Canvas Micarta, this knife is up for bigger jobs than you might expect. I would say it's pretty much regular sized for a tactical folder, maybe Tops has plans for a larger framed version? I just received it but I really like how it looks and functions. Looking at the spine, I think the Micarta resembles wood grain a little.

These are USA made too! 🇺🇸
